Meet The Director, Libby Dubner King
Libby is the Executive Director of Westmoreland Children’s Center and absolutely LOVES her job! Libby draws her inspiration from the children and the thrill of discovery in their eyes and knows they are capable of so much. She believes that the beginning years of a child’s life is the gateway to a love of lifelong learning and success. She is thrilled to be part of this vibrant and warm community.
Graduating from Pace University with a Bachelor’s of Arts double major in Human Relations and Early Childhood Education and a minor in Psychology, Libby began her career at WCC over twenty one years ago. As a strong advocate in early childhood education, she started off teaching at WCC in our three’s program at our Circle Campus. She then moved to teaching at our Pilgrim Campus and returned to Circle working in our Pre-K classroom as the lead teacher. With her strong leadership abilities she eventually became the Site Director there for eleven years. Libby has been the Executive Director at WCC since June 2012. In this role, Libby’s focus is working to make sure the needs of the families are met, whether they are educational, cultural, social or financial.
Libby was born and raised in Rockland County, New York. She moved to Maryland in the early 1990’s and was working at Bloomingdales as a representative for Ralph Lauren, when she met her husband, Brian, over 23 years ago. Brian and Libby have a son, Jeremy, who is a former WCC student! They currently live in Montgomery Village where Libby enjoys cheering Jeremy on in his year-round soccer events. When not at WCC, one can find Libby enjoying time at the beach, pool, or going back home to New York to see her family and friends.
Stop by our Main office to say hi. Libby has an open door policy and would love the opportunity to discuss her vast knowledge of our wonderful programs. She is the very heart of what early childhood education should be and this has made her an invaluable asset to WCC. Come grow with us!
